September is Suicide Prevention Month, and Tigers Together is hosting many great events happening across campus.
The Ripple Effect will be shown in McKissick Theatre (in Hendrix) on September 4 from 7:45–9:30 p.m. This documentary film focuses “on the devastating effects of suicide and the tremendous positive ripple effects of advocacy, inspiration and hope,” highlighting the story of Kevin Hines, a suicide attempt survivor.
There will be a Speakers’ Panel on Thursday, September 20 from 6:30–8 p.m. in Brackett 120. Fellow students, faculty and staff will talk about their experiences with mental health, how they coped and how it affects them today.
On September 27, local artist Dionne White will come and talk about her experiences with mental health and how art helped her through dark times. Check out more below:
